"I know what you did last summer" I'll most probably tag my summer with this quote after a year because my summer 2018 has been nothing but full of surprises! I got to travel and explore my province and visit other places

Let's biyahe and explore by reading my blog post about the places I went to this summer and become a real travel blogger. Let's experience the sweetness of its people while exploring the beauty of nature in this rustic yet cospolitan part of the country.

Ready, Set, Travel!

Summer won't be summer without going to the beach and this is what I've been looking forward to. It's relaxing to see the clear waters and feel the salty air in your skin.

LAKAWON ISLAND

It's the time to flaunt your beach babe body and swimwear so tag along my journey to Lakawon Island, Cadiz Viejo.

I like how organize the resort is right now compared to the first time when we went there, we waited for almost an hour or two to get to the island by boat but this time you don't need to wait for long and they are giving out cards as your means of payment for buying food and any other additional recreativity.

The only thing I don't like about the island is it's too humid and I really hate getting tan lines and dark skin but I guess it's given for every beaches. The prices for the food is a bit expensive and on our terms "dollars" so you need to work on your diskarte tips on how to save but at the same time enjoying the beach vibes.

And as an environmental friendly advocate and volunteer, when you visit the island let's help in maintaining its beauty, just keep in mind to maintain proper waste disposal and segragation.

NEGROS ISLAND

Negros is known as the sugar capital of the Philippines because of its number one produced product which is sugarcane. Ilonggo people are known to be sweet and full of smiles. And I am proud to be a negrosanon who grew up in the City of Smiles, Bacolod.

There is so much to love in Negros and so much more to discover. We went to the iconic Capitol Lagoon and took some shots for our travel video although I've been here thousands of times already, still it never gets old.

We also went to the New Government Center, also a famous landmark in Bacolod and of course The Vintage Glass Museum, the home of 3000 glass that was shipped all the way from U.S. and other countries. I never knew there was such a place here in Bacolod and I was glad this place was on our itenerary.

The province is also known for its good food which is also a tourism hub and we had a great taste of seafood a Balaring, Silay City. After filling our stomach wih the tasty food I was thrilled when we went to Rooster Cafe. I like going up the mountains and do some hiking because it brings out the adventurous side of me.

We found a hill to record a timelapse for the video and I was in awe for we were on top and I got a very nice view of the green lands and it was a good way to breath and take a break from the busy city.

As 2GO Travel Captains we went on board the Francis Xavier vessel and got the opportunity to look around their suites, dining area, the deck and the control room. We also got to interview the captain of the ship. After touring the vessel we rode the 2GO Supercat so we could have more time to see more of Iloilo's landmarks.

ILOILO CITY

The best experience of mine in riding their fastcraft is going out into the open (can't help imagiing Rose's scene in Titanic) and seeing the island of Ilo come to life. We toured around the city and went to Molo Mansion and it's vintage structure reminded me of Silay City in Negros. Too bad tho because we can't take videos there, they're so strict that yo need to ask for a permit to be allowed.

We also went to the famous Jaro Church and after touring around the city I brought home Iloilo's delicacy, the cream horn.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES
But the highlight of my summer escapade this year was going to Manila. I got to see the many iconic places and instagrammable food hubs that I only see in photos. First stop was Megamall after arriving from the airport, it was huge enough that I wasn't able to finish the day looking around ( I still like SM Bacolod tho). After seeing dinner we rested for a while and after recharging we went again to get ready for the night.

My eyes were full when we arrived at the Filling Station Bar & Cafe at Makati. They designed the place with neon lights and 50's theme that would surely make your appetite! You could scream "Bon Appetit!"

Second day at Manila won't be complete without eating breakfast at Cup of Faith located at CCF Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City.

The coffee shop is owned and managed by the Perkins family and I swear to come back for their hot chocolate, it was mouthwatering!

When in Manila, don't forget to visit ABS-CBN and the famous Pinoy Big Brother House. Beside the PBB fronting ELJ building, you could see actors playing basketball in the activity area and fans were crazy waiting for them outside the station (who knows you might pass them o one of your visits).

With all the places I went to in Manila I was crazy over Divisoria! They sell so may cheap overuns and the next time I come back I'll make sure to bring a big shopping bag so I could fill it and become a shopaholic for a day. I was so happy with the tattered jeans I bought for only P99.00!

There are lots of places that I have yet to visit like Dessert Museum, MOA, Venice Grand Canal in McKinley Hill, BGC, Rockwell, The Cove etc. but there will be a time for that.

Before I never realized the value of travelling. Others would think  it's just a waste of money but to me it is not wasted money. It is nothing compared to the happiness and joy you feel when you get to see new places and be with other people's culture. And if you love something you will do everything no matter how much it costs. Chase your dreams and author your future. Live while you can because the only trip you will regret is the one you didn't take.
