This is my first time to go and hike in Patag, Silay City. It was one life-fulfilling adventure that I've been to. We went up the mountain, all the way to the water dam and falls with a budget of 100 pesos only! How cool is that? We get to hike and swim and enjoy the great view!

Patag Hiking Diskarte Tips #TinDiskarte
1. When hiking, don’t be maarte. Don’t wear ootd that is uncomfortable, you will climb a mountain not mall shopping so expect rough roads, mosquito bites and body pain.
2. Ride a jeepney or the regular means of public transportation if you don’t have a private car. We only paid 45.00 pesos from Silay city proper going to Patag (helps you save gasoline if you ask me! Haha)
3. It took us an hour to arrive at Patag old hospital so we kinda got hungry. We chilled for a little bit at Balay Kapihan and Souvenir Shop and bought choco and coffee drinks for only 35.00 pesos each! It’s also better if you can bring your own snacks to share. Sharing is caring!
4. Ask for a tour guide to guide you all the way up cause you might get lost. But if you don’t wanna pay for the tour guide cause it’s a bit heavy on your pocket then I suggest you go mingle with the other tourists, walk and act like you’re with them! (problem solve!) or use your charm, that will work too!
5. Expect the unexpected. You ain’t psychic and you can’t really tell what’s up with the weather so it’s important to bring a hat and extra clothes cause you might get wet from the heavy downpour. And don’t wear white sneakers, you don’t want mud all over it.
6. Once you arrive at your destination take as many selfies and pictures as you can. You only get to be there once in a while so make the most out of the place and the people you’re with (Go na sa blogger post and instagram story!)
7. Explore. Take time to admire the beauty of the place. We hiked to escape the city so better take advantage of it. #cityescape #wanderlust
8. Hitch. We were not able to catch the last trip going home so we ended up hitching. Again! Use your charm!
To have fun and explore doesn’need to be expensive. All you need are diskarte tips!
